New Home: A New Partnership Between ACS and Sahan Journal

We are proud to announce that starting Thursday March 7th, 2024, Afghan Cultural Society will be joining journalist Hussain Haidari and Sahan Journal on the weekly column written by Haidari: New Home.

New Home features important news for Afghans living in the U.S. The column, which is released in Farsi, Pashto, and English, will feature a contribution from Center for Victims of Torture: info and tips on cultivating a healthy mindset and adapting to life’s challenges.
Readers will also receive updates on programs and events offered by Afghan Cultural Society and our partners!

This column is intended as a resource for Afghan arrivals, those who support them, and the community at large. We hope you enjoy it and share it with anyone who might find it interesting or beneficial.

Hussain Haidari is a journalist at Sahan Journal and a men’s mental health facilitator at Afghan Cultural Society. He was born in Qarabagh, a district located in the Ghazni Province in southeastern Afghanistan and graduated from Kabul University in 2016. Haidari worked as a reporter for the Hasht-e-Subh Daily and Radio Nawrouz before arriving in the U.S. in October 2021 and now lives with his wife and son in St. Louis Park, MN.
