Assister services- Help clients by connecting them to various resources within the community and assist them in applying for state and county benefits, such as, food, cash, childcare assistance, emergency assistance, unemployment and health insurance. Some of the connections and referrals we make are for English courses, housing, immigration, employment, household furnishings, food-shelves etc. Our assisters are not case workers, or social workers, but are able to help assist, guide and orient clients through the new culture they are apart of, by removing barriers. This is done through one on one relationship building, using a family wellbeing inventory at intake and follow up every 6 months to measure the progress.
