Mental Health

ACS offers mental health services by and for Afghans with the ultimate goal of helping our clients build strong interpersonal connections and foster skills to cope with stress and the lingering effects of trauma. Our programming combines group support and one-on-one counseling with classes and activities like yoga, hiking, photography, weekly soccer matches, and more.

Mental health facilitators are available to offer peer support and connect clients with mental health providers, life skills classes, secondary education, and financial literacy courses. We value community guided programming, and welcome Afghans interested in group mental health to reach out to us with any questions about or recommendations for programming they would like to see. ACS works in partnership with the Center for Victims of Torture to develop our mental health classes.
